In Italy, reforming  on-demand mobility would have an economic impact of €2.4 billion and create 85,000 new jobs. This figure emerges from the study “The benefits of reforming the non-scheduled mobility sector”, carried out by Muoviti Italia.

The benefits would also affect the tourism sector and are quantifiable at around €1.5 billion, while for the automotive sector, revenues are estimated at between €400 and €600 billion in the event of the replacement of NCC vehicles with 12,000 new registrations per year. The potential tax revenue is also significant, quantified at €500 million.

Similar reforms already adopted in France (with 56,000 new operators) and Portugal (36,000) have yielded positive results, with greater efficiency, digitalisation and accessibility for citizens and tourists, without compromising taxi services.

Innovative mobility solutions will be presented at Traffic 2026, an international exhibition and conference dedicated to traffic management, infrastructure, safety and control, smart roads and smart cities, intelligent mobility, parking solutions, public and collective transport.

It will be held as part of Urban Tech 2026 – The Urban Technology Show, the new event dedicated to e-mobility, traffic, commuting, security, telecommunications & data and the environment, scheduled for 7-9 October 2026 at BolognaFiere.
